PACE OF PLAY
We like to play our golf in 4 hours or less. Please consider the following tips to help maintain this desired pace of play.
- Understand and be prepared to play READY GOLF. This means that who ever is ready to hit their ball should do so (avoid using the honour system).
- If you play READY GOLF, then your correct position on the golf course is right behind the group ahead.
- Balls hit off line should be carefully observed as to their destination (use landmarks as a guide).
- Allow the shorter hitters to hit first when at the tee.
- Be aware of your actual starting time for your round of golf. Our goal is four hours or less for a round of golf.
This would average thirteen minutes per hole.
- Experienced golfers who know how to maintain their correct position on the golf course should help those who require assistance.
- Be aware that your guests at the club are your responsibility (ensure that they are aware of and capable of playing READY GOLF).
- Study your putt while others are playing (you will then be READY to putt when it is your turn).
- Continuous putting is recommended.
- Keep stops between the front nine and back nine as brief as possible
- Higher handicap golfers should use the forward tees.
- Allow the group behind you to play through, if you are holding them up.
These are a few helpful hints that will allow all Members and guests to keep the pace of play and maintain our goal of a complete round of golf in four hours or less. Be sure to read your newsletter for more helpful hints.
